JAN WIGSTEN International tourism development consultant with +25 års professional experience from the worlds last “remote” places: Mongolia,
Amazonas, The Andes, Himalaya, Siberia, as well as from Scandinavia and Europe. Being a native from Swedish Gotland Island, Jan is fluent in spanish and english and, to some extent, mongolian. He has worked in the west, developing countries and in changing regions. Among his clients is WWF, Conservation International, The World Bank and The InterAmerican Development Bank. His area of expertise is to bridge the gap between tourism development, land usage, conservation of nature resources and to create ways for local population to get a stronger interest in a sustainable development. Former member of the board of The International Ecotourism Society och co-arranger of the International Year of Ecotourism 2002 with UN, for eight arctic countries. Jan was also a co-founder of the Swedish Eco Tourism Society and the launch of Nature´s Best quality marking in Sweden. He is presently working as an external advisor to World Wildlife Fund International for cultural landscape conservation and for Dutch CBI with export coaching for tour operators from 43 developing countries. Based summertime (May-Sep) in Mongolia where he has developed one of Mongolias biggest incoming touroperators (www.nomadicjourneys.com) with distribution in more than 20 countries. Experienced leader from private, public and non-profit sectors. Curt is a market economist DIHM in international marketing with a broad experience from a number of industries. Sales and management experiences from travel & tourism, construction business, medical products, handicap aids, management consultancy, market research and sports sponsorship on a national level. Among his clients is Fastighetspartner, Bromma Conquip, Tetra Pak, The Mid University and a number of tourism- & travel companies. Curt works with business development, tourism development and is the founder of our Business Training Expeditions. He is also running Sweden Tourism - a blog for tour operators.
