I had a gut feeling our export coaching model would work. Now I know it does. After 1½ years of tourism export coaching of about 70 tour operators worldwide, the first results has begun to drop in. 5 East African tour operators reported their real figures recently for 2009 & 2010 – and it shows a tremendeous improvement.
Three of the five TO´s coached by us in Kenya & Tanzania increased their total Sales volume, Export value , their EU export value AND their guest´s daily local expenditure by 100% or more. The biggest one exceeding a 200% change in export sales & local expenditure.
Well, percentage is one thing, you might think. real figures is something else. Right. Here they are:
The largest one increasing their total sales volume by more than € 295,000 in hard cash, while the smaller tour operators earned roundabout € 30,000. Even those who are struggling with some business problems still sold a lot more in 2010 than the previous year. Notably also the staff increased by 2-3 employees at four of the companies.
And the export coaching programme has just begun.
